From the 26th till the 30th of May 2010 Priveekollektie
will participate in Art Amsterdam, the oldest and largest fair
for contemporary art in the Netherlands. The gallery will present
recent works by the artists Arik Levy, Anutosh, Hans Kotter,
Ien Lucas, Eric de Nie and Miguel Chevalier.
Eric
de Nie (Leiden, 1944) makes colourful
abstract paintings, in which grid-like patterns of lines play
a major part. The personal signature of the artist is shown as
De Nie explores the effects of flowing and dripping paint on the
raw canvas. This provides movement and rhythm to the repetitive
stripes inspired by music.
Priveekollektie
will show several works by the internationally renowned artist
Arik Levy (Tel Aviv, Israel, 1963) during the fair, such as an
installation, photography, a light object and a sculpture. Levy
was selected to participate in the No Holds Barred area with the
installation ‘Personality Disorder Social Codes'.

We would
like to invite you for the abstract watercolour exhibition. This will
be a travelling show, starting in May 2010 in Piet Knook's Gallery (Edam).
The exhibition takes place under the charge of the Dutch Watercoulor
Association, HAK. Sipke Huismans, Iemke van Dijk and Henriëtte
van 't Hoog
are members of the HAK and are the initiaters of this exhibition.
Piet Knooks Gallery is situated in a former small church building. The
space is very nice, it has a high ceiling, beautiful light and plastered
wite walls.

From the 26th till the 29th of March 2010 Priveekollektie
will join MiArt in Milan for the second time. During this
prestigious international fair for modern and contemporary art,
held for the fifteenth time, the gallery will present contemporary
art as well as limited-edition design.
The artists Priveekollektie will represent in Milan are Ien
Lucas, Eric de Nie, Anutosh, Hans Kotter, Christiane Richter,
Arik Levy, Ted Noten, Carolina Wilcke and Lotty Lindeman.
During MiArt Priveekollektie will show paintings by Ien Lucas (1955,
Echt) and Eric de Nie (1944, Leiden).
Both Dutch artists create abstract work with unique use of acrylic
paint and technique, often characterized by vibrant colors and
repetitive motives, such as stripes and dots. In contrast with
these paintings the gallery shows figurative drawings with a
modest use of colors, made by the Dutch artist Anutosh (1970,
Oldenzaal).
In terms of photography Priveekollektie will show a very diverse
range of works. The technical L.E.D. Light boxes of
Hans Kotter (1966, Mühldorf am Inn), in which unique
photography integrated in light objects can be seen, as well
as the intriguing and colorful photography of Christiane Richter (1963,
Bielefeld). Both artists live and work in Germany.
Photography of the internationally renowned artist Arik Levy
(Israel, 1963) will be presented by Priveekollektie. Priveekollektie
will also show a unique sculptural light object and sculptures
by Arik Levy. Also a unique object of the established artist
Ted Noten (1956, Tegelen) and a refined installation
by the promising newcomer Carolina Wilcke (1980, Leiden) will
be shown. Her tranquil Tafelgenoten combines three-dimensional
objects with photography. Also the playful cabinet Tassenkast by
Lotty Lindeman (1980, Hoogkarspel) will be presented
by Priveekollektie in Milan. Both Wilcke & Lindeman graduated
from the renowned Dutch Design Academy Eindhoven.

en design van Nederlandse kunstenaars en vormgevers, geïnspireerd
door de natuur. De werken worden gepresenteerd zowel binnen als buiten
in de tuin. Te zien zijn schilderijen van Karin Bos,
pasteltekeningen van Jacobien de Rooij, geborduurde
landschappen van Noëlle Cuppens en abstracte
landschappen van Eric de Nie. Verder tekeningen en
een beeld van Elena Beelaerts. Lotte van Laatum toont
sieraden uit haar project BLOEI en een Tulpenvaas. Buiten bijzondere
tuinbanken van Rogier Martens, objecten van keramist
Frans Ottink en een serie kleine beelden van Pjotr
Muller.

In
March 2009 TAB - Timmer Art Books has published a monography of the painter
Eric de Nie (1944). Besides many full-colour images, the book with DVD
also contains an extensive essay by Han Steenbruggen, Director Curator
of the Museum Belvédère in Heerenveen, the Netherlands.
The book shows how De Nie created a consistent body of abstract Works,
starting from figuration. By drawing lines from his later to his earlier
works and, at the same time, positioning the painter within the context
of contemporary developments in painting, this consistency is made explicit.
The book has been presented at the opening of the exhibition of recent
works of Eric de Nie in Museum Belvédère in Heerenveen on
14 March 2009. |

zilte wind op een duin
in mijn ogen staat de verte geschreven
hoog verschijnt kleur in iriserende lichtheid
het maakt de ruimte helder
Het specifieke licht langs de kust, brengt ons onwillekeurig
in
een bepaalde staat van zijn. De daarbij behorende sensaties
beïnvloeden veelal onbewust vorm en kleur van het werk
en bepalen zo mee de inhoud ervan
De zonovergoten stilte rondom mijn zomeratelier, direct achter
de Ligurische kust in Italië, waar het zeelicht langs de
hellingen
vloeit, levert mij ook voortdurend nieuwe impulsen op
Ons abstract minimalisme is aldus onmiskenbaar
gedrenkt in het klassieke schildersthema licht

Een
schilderijententoonstelling van Eric de Nie en Mathilde Cuijpers
De titel is tevens het thema van de tentoonstelling.
Het ‘Leitmotiv’ in het werk van zowel Eric de Nie
als mij
is het verbeelden van essenties.
Het tot essentie terugbrengen van vorm, materiaal of onderwerp.
Het wonen en werken aan de zee (Haarlem) heeft,
blijkt,
vinden wij nu achteraf,
mede het karakter van het werk bepaald.
Iets van het klassieke Hollandse thema ‘licht’
is ook in ons werk terecht gekomen.
